Edward H. Nabb Research Center for Delmarva History and Culture
The Nabb Research Center at Salisbury University is one of the most important repositories for Delmarva genealogy and local history. Its non-circulating collections include family histories, manuscripts, correspondence, photographs, ledgers, diaries, maps, newspapers, land surveys, church and government records, oral histories, rare books, artifacts, and extensive regional microfilm.

Maryland State Archives
The central repository for Maryland state and local government records of permanent value. For genealogists, the Archives is especially important for vital records, probate and estate records, land records, court records, military records, tax records, church records, maps, newspapers, photographs, and other historical collections.
Maryland Division of Vital Records
The Maryland Department of Health issues certified copies of eligible birth, death, fetal-death, and marriage records and provides divorce verifications for qualifying years. For older marriage records, the appropriate Circuit Court or Maryland State Archives may be the better source.
Maryland Genealogical Society
A statewide genealogical society offering Maryland research guidance, educational programs, publications, databases, surname exchanges, and other resources for family historians.
Maryland Center for History and Culture
Formerly the Maryland Historical Society. Its H. Furlong Baldwin Library contains manuscripts, family papers, books, photographs, maps, newspapers, genealogical materials, and other collections documenting Maryland history.
Maryland Estate Search
Public online access to basic estate information and estate dockets from Maryland Registers of Wills. Many estate documents can also be ordered or downloaded through the system.

Official directory for Maryland Circuit and District Courts, with current Clerk’s Office links, contact information, record information, and courthouse locations.
Eastern Shore County Resources
For each county, the historical-society link is useful for local collections and community history; the Clerk of the Circuit Court is the current official source for many court, land, and marriage records; and the Register of Wills is the current official source for probate and estate records.
